Gypsyman Blues Artist Songwriter Dianne Body In a time and place where we may feel disconnected, art always reminds us of the contrary. The song Gypsyman Blues written by Dianne Body depicts the life style of the artist in a world of struggles and obstacles. Although the artists faces these battles, the necessity to create and connect overcomes any other struggle. This song by Canadian artist Dianne Body, carries an energy strong enough to reach the other side of the world to Nigerian artist, Godwin Tina. Godwin immediately connected to the lyrics, the frequency and the message. He further illustrates the essence of Gypsyman Blues as he magically orchestrates a number of dancers, musicians, artists and videographers into this creative video. Hearing the song Gypsyman Blues inspires you, now watching the whole video moves you. By Eliza Hanko Reviews Open letter to Godwin & team An ode to Godwin and team I want to endlessly thank Godwin for his dedication to his craft as he uplifts, inspires and creates opportunities for others surrounding him. The artists that were brought together wholesomely depicted the song Gypsyman Blues by Dianne Body. Their joyous energy is contagious as they present their natural talents. The courage they extend as they step outside of their comfort zone in this genre of music. Their presence, talent and love for art speaks so loudly through this video. Even if thousands of miles apart, we can still connect since the language of art is that of the soul. Godwin has been heaven sent to lead this project. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for this art piece. To the rest of the team: Editor - Elisha Moses (mhztaplacid) Director - Frieda Friday (mhizplacid) Producer - Godwin .I. Focusing in part on their softer side, War unleashed Deliver the Word in fall 1973. A smooth blend of the band's more progressive jazz-rock fusion, the LP shot to the top of the R&B charts, their second of four number one records in a row. It was a perfect tonic to the mediocre MOR music rampaging its way through the early part of the decade. The opening "H2 Overture" is a restrained jazz jam that gives way to "In Your Eyes," which keeps the progressive momentum going but adds unexpected vocal twists that vary from interesting spoken pleasures to full vocal harmonies it's sex on a groove. Both "Southern Part of Texas" and a long-awaited studio recording of "Baby Brother now titled "Me and Baby Brother" swing the band back to their alter ego cutting-edge funk stomp. "Gypsy Man," meanwhile, is a near-12-minute mantric, tantric opus whose blues riffs are pinned down only by the song's low, unyielding rhythm. It's a memorable slab of pure prog passed through Lee Oskar's stroboscopic brain. An outstanding album split between War's two definitive styles, Deliver the Word ultimately delivers a vibe, a groove, and an intent that are hard to resist. A magical ride with plenty of surprises to keep the listener on his or her toes, this set is a perfect example of the band at their genre-fusing best. source : AllMusic Review by Amy Hanson 🤍

Writen by Ralph Hodgson and Music by Sean Tyrrell Recorded live at the Shelter in Dublin at the launch of the Belladonna CD And released as live Video 'Last Night In Babylon" filmed by Ben Gibney of Amber productions sound recorded by Colin Boland. Seán Tyrrell vocals Mandocello, Fergus Feely Mandola, Robbie Walshe Bodhrán CD's and Videos available from 🤍seantyrrell.com SEÁN TYRRELL BIOGRAPHY In 1978 he began working for University College Galway, based in the heart of the Burren. It's hard to avoid music in this part of Ireland and soon Seán was lured back into the music scene. With a growing reputation he was invited to 'guest' on several recordings, including two albums with uilleann piper Davy Spillane. Swapping the Burren for the sheltered Bell Harbour, close to the border of his native county Galway, Seán divided his time juggling the demands of fishing, oyster farming, and a re-energized approach to his music. He became fascinated by the forward thinking poem 'The Midnight Court' by Brian Merriman, translated by David Marcus. (all 1,206 lines of it) Regarded by the critics as the hit of the Galway Arts Festival when Druid Theatre staged it in 1992. Seán Tyrrell's 'traditional music opera' featuring Seán with a host of talented contemporaries toured extensively around Ireland with a two week performance in 2008 at the Edinburgh Fringe and a tour of the USA in the same year. On the heels of the success of his recordings with Davy Spillane, Seán embarked on his first solo project, "Cry of A Dreamer". Recorded on his own label Longwalk Music, later released by Rykodisc in April 1994 and was greeted with great critical acclaim, given a spotlight review by Billboard, voted Best Folk Album of the Year by both Folk Roots and Hotpress. Performing at major festivals and concert halls in Ireland, England, Europe, Australia and the USA, In 1999 he released his much anticipated second solo effort, "The Orchard". Again the album was met with great critical acclaim. Seán was voted Best Overall Folk Act and the readers of Irish Music Magazine voted it Best Folk Album. In more recent times, Seán has contributed music and songs to such projects as, "A Necklace of Wrens" a film documentary on the life and Poetry of Michael Hartnett, whose poem "Billy Mulvihill" Seán set to music on "The Orchard". It was Hartnett's "Belladonna in the Bar" gave him the title for his third CD "Belladonna" when Seán included Michael's poem on it. A recent German film documentary on Seán's native Galway included his performance of "Belladonna in the Bar". It also features poems by W B Yeats and Francis Ledwidge set to music by Seán. Seán was invited to set to music the poetry of Francis Ledwidge who was killed in the First World War. He collaborated with 5 other international musicians on "Songs of Peace" to commemorate the life and work of the poet. Recorded and performed them at concerts over two nights at Passendale cathedral. A decade and three solo CDs or so later Seán has launched in Ireland 'Rising Tide'- The Collection', comprising 16 tracks including a blend of familiar favourites, plus seven new tracks. Also available on the Ark Music label worldwide under the title of 'The Best Of- Man For Galway' Seán has toured in the past with: Tommy Peoples, Fergus Feely, Kevin Glackin, Ronan Brown, Seán Potts, Paul Mc Grattan, Davy Spillane. Three for the Ditch (Seán, Frankie Lane, and comedian Jack Lynch) Paddy Keenan, The Visit with Little John Nee and poet Mary O'Malley. More recently he has concentrated touring 'The Midnight Court' with Johnny Mullins. Now after many years languishing as a film treatment comes "Message Of Peace" a double CD on the life of one of Irelands unsung heroes John Boyle O'Reilly. Donal O Kelly actor of Catalpa and Kings fame launched it at The Galway Arts Festival 2009 and toured extensively around Ireland. It has since toured the USA on two occasions with great assistence from the Irish Arts Council and Culture Ireland.
Sonny Curtis was a guitarist in Buddy Holly's group The Crickets. As early as 1962, Leon Russell had worked with The Crickets on songs. Leon summoned his Tulsa pal Johnny (JJ) Cale to Hollywood to be his studio sound engineer. That lead to Cale working in that capacity, and much more, for Snuff Garrett's viva Records label and his Amigo Studios. Sonny made an album for Viva titled The 1st Of Sonny Curtis. Leon Russell played on some of the songs on that album. A session held June 29, 1967 resulted in "I'm A Gypsy Man" and "I Wanna Go Bummin' Around," which went on that album as well as a single. A third song recorded that day was "Atlanta Georgia Stray," which was put on a single but did not make the album. Glen Hardin of The Shindogs was pianist, Jim Gordon was drummer, Sonny Curtis, Mike Deasy and JJ Cale were guitarists, and bass was played by Joe Osborn (mistakengly listed as "John"). JJ Cale recorded his own version of "I'm A Gypsy Man" for his 1976 album Troubadour.
